Diary of a lockdown

At the beginning of the pandemic, I created this global photo project because I didn’t really know how to cope with it all. So I decided to take up my camera and travel virtually around the world to see how my friends were doing. I wanted to delve into their lives, and see how they were dealing with this new world.

From the start, I knew I wanted to take pictures but I wanted to give you something beyond that. That is how the photo diaries were born, it started out in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia through the US, the Middle East and Europe. I have shot the photos via the Zoom platform or FaceTime through the wifi from my computer in Berlin. It promised to be a challenging project, but one that definitely left a mark on me.
